Celtic Supporters Club Switzerland

Privacy policy

1. Controller and contact

Celtic Supporters Club Switzerland is responsible for the personal data it processes through this website. Email: info@celticfc.ch. Operator details are in our Impressum. We handle personal data under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection and other applicable data protection requirements.

2. Website delivery and hosting

The website is hosted with Infomaniak. Technical data such as IP address, request time, requested resource, browser information and errors are processed to deliver the website and protect it against misuse. Technical logs are handled within the hosting service. The website does not use advertising trackers. Optional first-party audience statistics are described below.

3. Contact, membership and merchandise enquiries

Email links open your email application. We receive the information you choose to send, such as name, email address and your enquiry, and use it to respond and organise the requested club activities. This website does not process online payments or provide an automated mailing-list subscription. Email providers also process the messages needed for delivery.

4. News and photographs

We publish club news, newsletters and photographs of club activities. Contact us about corrections, image credits or objections to publication of information relating to you. We assess requests under the applicable rights and circumstances.

5. Administration

Authorised editors and administrators sign in using email, password and a second factor. Account details, password hashes, encrypted authenticator secrets, recovery-code hashes, sessions and security events are stored on the hosting system. CMS content, original uploads, selected image crops and previous versions are stored there too. Public visitors do not need an account. The administration uses its own login, not a ChatGPT account.

6. Cookies and privacy settings

Necessary session cookies protect the administration. Your separate choices about external media and visitor statistics are saved in local storage for up to 180 days. Both are off by default. A first-party cookie named cscs_statistics records statistics permission for the same duration. You can allow or reject external media and change your choice at any time below or through the footer. External media are blocked by default. Rejecting them does not prevent access to the club’s own content.

Visitor statistics (optional)

Only after you opt in, our own server records counts of public page paths, UTC dates, coarse device types and referring website hostnames. Query strings, full referrer URLs and IP addresses are not stored in these statistics. A random identifier in session storage distinguishes browser sessions, renewed after 30 minutes of inactivity. Only a daily hash of this identifier is stored by the server; it is not linked to your identity. No third-party analytics provider receives this data. Countries and cities are not determined. Signed-in CMS users are excluded. Active statistics are retained for up to 90 days; database backups may contain older statistics until those backups are removed. Withdrawing consent stops further collection and removes the statistics cookie and session identifier; existing aggregate counts remain. Hosting logs described above are separate.

7. External services

Social-media links lead to other websites only when clicked. If you allow an external image or embedded video, the provider receives connection data such as your IP address and browser information and may set its own cookies. YouTube and Vimeo embeds, where present, are operated by their respective providers; their privacy terms apply. Processing by these providers can take place outside Switzerland, including in the USA. You can withdraw permission through the settings. Loaded embeds are removed; data already transmitted and cookies already set at the provider are not deleted by this action.

8. Access and retention

Authorised club officers and service providers receive data as required for the purposes described above. We do not sell personal data. Enquiries are kept while needed to resolve the matter and meet applicable obligations. Published club history remains as an archive, subject to correction and removal requests. CMS revisions remain available until removed by the club. Security records are limited to the latest 10,000 events. The application retains up to five completed backups per automatic, manual, import and update category; separate installation backups can be kept until removed by an administrator. Hosting logs follow the provider’s service settings. Access controls, encrypted connections and backups help protect the information.

9. Your rights

You may request information, correction or deletion of your personal data and exercise other applicable rights, including withdrawal of consent and data delivery or transfer where the legal conditions are met. Contact info@celticfc.ch; we may need to verify your identity. You may also contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.

10. Updates

We update this notice when the website’s functions or processing arrangements change. Last updated: 24.10.2026.
